  • Located in Northwest Austin, Austin Center for Psychological Care is the first independently owned facility to provide Dialectical Behavior Therapy, incorporating Radically Open DBT to the Austin area.
  • ACPC offers comprehensive programming to adults who need more support than individual therapy alone. The adult morning group meets Monday-Thursday 9am to 12pm and the adult afternoon group meets Monday-Thursday 1pm to 4pm.
  • Ran by a team of well trained and seasoned clinicians, ACPC places a strong emphasis on providing quality treatment to the patients who walk through our doors.  Striving to serve our community, ACPC accepts several private insurances.

  • Arvinder Walia
    MD
    Medical Director, Adult Program

    Dr. Walia is board certified in psychiatry.  He has been providing general adult psychiatric care in Austin since 2004.  Dr. Walia completed medical school in India and did his training in psychiatry at Austin Psychiatry residency program at Austin State Hospital.

    He was an attending physician at Seton Shoal Creek Hospital as well as numerous outpatient treatment centers in the Austin area.  Dr. Walia’s special interests are in neurobiology of common psychiatric conditions including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder with treatment focus centered on evidence-based guidelines.

  • Britni Slocombe
    LCSW
    Program Manager & Adult Group Clinician

    Britni is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master’s degree from Texas State University in 2011. During her training, she worked in Motivational Enhancement and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Intensive Outpatient Programs for at risk teens with alcohol and/or drug problems. She also trained in an inpatient adult psychiatric facility, specializing in dual diagnosis. Britni went on to work in an intensive outpatient setting with adults with dual diagnosis and both created and facilitated an adolescent intensive outpatient program based on CBT and DBT skills for teens and their parents.
